Run for the Angel Appeal! 99.3% of all goods we have here in the UAE come to us by sea. These are brought to us by thousands of seafarers from across the world. Without these seafarers spending many months away from their families and loved ones, our lives here in the in the UAE would be very different. These seafarers often are working without the basic facilities that we all take for granted, a telephone to phone home, internet facilities to look at photos of family, a shop to buy presents or simply an impartial ear to listen to your problems. The Angel Appeal offers all these facilities and more via its seafarers support vessel - the Flying Angel. She goes out 7 days a week between daylight hours and offers many lonely and isolated seafarers a little taste of home. Give something back to those who bring us almost everything we have - run for the Angel Appeal. We are offering help with training and fundraising, transfers to and from the race from Dubai as well as a well deserved lunch on return from Dubai which your family and friends can join you for. RUN FOR GOOD! Whether you're already registered for the race or wondering about doing so, it's not too late to do some good at the same time to Give Kids A Chance Around The World! Gulf for Good (G4G) organizes exciting adventure challenges around the world inspiring people to do something unusual. Participants raise funds, which are then donated to handpicked children's charities in the region where the challenge is held, with four main objectives:
Our policy is not simply to hand out money, but rather to identify important and well thought-out projects that will use the funds wisely. Where necessary, we work closely with other charities to ensure that money is properly allocated and spent and no future misuse is made of anything paid for by G4G. All expenditures are approved and monitored by the G4G's accountants, auditors and Board of Governors. To date, 30 challenges in 17 countries involving over 600 participants of 36 nationalities have raised more than US$1.5 million for needy causes around the world. |
