RAK HALF MARATHON LAUNCHES 2010 RACE - REGISTRATION OPENS ONLINE

Ras Al Khaimah June 02, 2009: It may come as no surprise to some that the race which has consistently set precedents in road race organization in the region has done it again by opening registration for the 2010 event as early as today.

Nathan Clayton, Race Director of the RAK Half Marathon and Managing Director of Premier Marathons, the organizing company behind the Middle East's highest accredited road race explains exactly why: "We are constantly striving to better this event and improve the services we offer to runners and our community supporters.  Opening registration today allows more people the opportunity to plan their sporting season and to schedule any required training programs well in advance. It helps HR managers advertise the event and prepare company teams; an aspect that has become increasingly popular within the event and it adds increased value to our sponsors who can now benefit from association to an event that continues to create a buzz almost the whole year round."

Not content with just opening registration for the Half Marathon and the normally over-subscribed Team Relay Challenge, race organizers have simultaneously re-launched the event website with a fresh new feel and the ability to browse through it in a choice of English, Arabic or German. "We introduced the Arabic language site last year and felt this year, due to the popularity of the event and Ras Al Khaimah itself with the German people and their love of running, that is was appropriate to offer a higher level of service to German speakers." added Clayton.

As in previous years, registration online is provided by Premier Marathons Online Services who for the 2010 edition of the event are offering 'Early Bird' special prices for the races the associated activities. "For the month of June and online only, registrants can save up to a total of 280dhs over what they may pay if they register last minute," Clayton stated, adding that registration would also close much earlier than previous editions, on 30 November this year.

The RAK Half Marathon will be held on 19 February 2010 and is an IAAF Silver Label Race and a full member of the Association of Marathons and Distance Running (AIMS).
