Getting There

Traveling to the Race

From Dubai head north on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road (E311) or Emirates Road (E611) and take exit 119 (E311) or the 2nd exit on the Al Shohadaa Roundabout (E611), continuing straight on Al Shohadaa Road until you reach the Al Hamra roundabout on the E11 and take the third exit (left)*. Continue for approximately 2 kilometres and follow the Parking Marshals directions for parking in the designated parking area.

*Access around the roundabout and left onto the E11 will be controlled by RAK Traffic Police and will be restricted to runners only.

There will be NO unauthorized vehicular access to Al Marjan Island on the morning of the race and NO parking on the island in any location.

There is ample parking on the E11 just before Marjan Island. Please follow all directions of our Parking Marshals and park quickly as directed.

The Start Line/Race Village is still a further 2km away; you are welcome to walk (stay on the coned section of the road/sidewalk) or take one of the shuttle buses which will be rotating between the Start Line and the Race Packing.

We cannot stress enough that you should arrive in plenty of time to make your way to the start. The race start will not be delayed and you may not be permitted to start if you arrive late.

Travel Tips

You've paid your fee, done your training (we hope!) and should be looking forward to the race, if not the early start! But how disappointing if you arrive late and miss your chance to run the World's Fastest Half Marathon! PLEASE arrive early - there is up to a 2km walk from the parking to the start line and you're arriving at the same time as thousands of others.

Drive carefully, respect all speed limits and other drivers and try to carpool where possible!

Consider buying a bus ticket for one of the official race buses - they are the only vehicles allowed on Al Marjan Island and you'll be dropped off in time, right at the Start Line and will leave from right after the Finish Line - VIP style!

Remember; those who arrive early get the shortest queues for coffee, bag drop and toilets!

Race Parking has exit in a single direction only (same way you arrived), to exit Ras Al Khaimah to head south you should turn right at the Al Hamra Roundabout which is the first junction you'll come to. Heading straight on will take you past Al Hamra and eventually into Ras Al Khaimah. Why not take the rest of the day to explore Ras Al Khaimah or maybe visit Jebel Jais, the UAE's highest mountain?
